Lasik Laser
LASIK is the safest FDA approved technique to get rid of spectacles and experience the world in a new way. LASIK and other refractive surgeries (PRK, ICL) are a group of simple, effective, safe and painless procedures to get rid of glasses. With bladefree customized iLASIK technology we can achieve excellent 6/6 vision (20/20) in most cases and also excellent visual quality (high definition vision) with minimal glare.
LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis), commonly referred to as laser eye surgery, is a type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
Drishti Eye Centre the premier eye care centre in Faridabad is pioneer in Lasik surgery. Equipped with the STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System. The system is designed to bring Advanced CustomVue laser vision correction to life.
Featuring Variable Spot Scanning technology and Variable Repetition Rate pulse-packing algorithm, both proprietary to AMO, it reduces thermal effects on the cornea, allowing the surgeon to perform the procedure quickly and effectively, while maximizing patient safety.
The STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System, at Drishti Eye Centre, the first of its kind in the country, is among the most advanced Excimer Laser machines available today and is considered the gold standard amongst excimer lasers. This means, that LASIK surgery has now become safer and more accurate than ever before.
• This is a US FDA approved excimer laser system and is the most popular Excimer laser in USA (70% of all Excimer lasers).
• Millions of laser procedures have been performed with it worldwide with 98% of patients having achieved 6/6 or better vision without glasses.
• It removes minimal corneal tissue – can safely correct even higher powers.
• Its unique ActiveTrak 3-D eye tracker ensures accurate laser delivery and compensates for minute eye movements during the procedure.
• Its individualized treatment option (Advanced CustomVueTM treatment) provides unsurpassed quality of vision, trouble-free night driving, and freedom from glare and haloes. This is aided by Variable Spot Scanning (VSSTM), which corrects the minutest of optical imperfections, the 3-D Eye Tracking device and the new Iris Recognition (IR) software, which ensures accurate correction of high cylindrical spectacle powers.
The STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System therefore provides your doctor with the best possible treatment options for you.

Refractive Errors &Lasik Laser
The eye works in a similar way as a camera. To get a clear picture the lens of the camera focuses the rays of light on the camera film in a similar way, the light rays get focused on the retina(the inner most layer of eye) with the help of camera (the anterior surface of the eye)and lens of the eye. The inability of the eye to accurately focus these rays of light coming from a distance, onto the retina is called refractive error. This condition may be either because the eye is too short or long in length, or because the refractive power of the cornea or lens is not optimum. There are types of refractive errors.
MYOPIA (Near-Sight)
The light
rays are focused in front of the retina, either because
the eye is too long or the power of the cornea and lens
is more than required, distant objects are seen clearly.
Minus glasses are needed to correct this
condition.
HYPERMETROPIA (Long-
Sight)
The light rays are focused behind the Retina, either because the eye is too short or the power of the cornea glasses is needed to correct this condition.
ASTIGMATISM
The person strains the eyes to see objects clearly. Plus the light rays do not get focused evenly to a point, usually due to the cornea the eye being more curved in one direction than the other cylinder lenses (with axis) are needed.
